Century City Member Onboarding
There’s a lot going on in our program and when you first join, it can be a little intimidating. This post is designed to onboard new members and should clear things up – from parking validation to program explanation. If you’re short on time, here’s a quick summary:
Grand opening with full classes is Monday 10/31
download the allegiate app and log in so you can book classes
Allegiate Strength and Allegiate Team are out two primary classes. These are the main programs you’ll attend. Team is our more advanced program which members have to be cleared for. You can get cleared after your first session or by scheduling a Functional Movement Screen in the Allegiate App
How often to come to Allegiate? 3-4 times per week. Go to 2-3 Strength or Team classes per week and then use our other classes based on your goals. If you want to lose weight, go to a conditioning class in addition to 2-3 Team or Strength classes. If your goal is to add muscle, go to a hypertrophy class on top of 2-3 Team or Strength classes.
Free Pre-Launch Classes for founding members
For founding members only, we’re open for free classes for the last 2 weeks of October (from Monday October 10/17 until 10/28.) The class schedule is live now in the Allegiate app and you’re good to start booking classes. There are morning, afternoon, and evening classes.
Our grand opening with full capacity classes starts Monday 10/31 but as a founding member you’ll have access to the gym and classes for 2 weeks free, prior to officially opening. The prelaunch classes are going to have 6 people per class, which are smaller than our usual 18 person classes. We’re doing these smaller classes to give a bit more personal attention and provide a better first experience. When you first get started at Allegiate, there’s a lot going on and these smaller classes give the coaches more focus on you.
If these classes fill up quickly or you’re unable to book them, please don’t get discouraged. After any potential initial surge, capacity opens up and it will be easy to book and get into the times you want.
Free user manuals to maximize your results
Pick up your free hard copy of The Allegiate User Manual: To help you get the most out of your membership and maximize your fitness results, we made a pocketbook that explains the program, technology, philosophy, history, nutrition, and more. If you’re feeling a little lost how it all works, read this manual and it’ll help clear things up. Pick up your free hard copy at the front desk.
Download the Allegiate App: this is the best way to book classes and manage your Allegiate account. Download the app, log in with your credentials, and you should see your account with your membership active. Pro tip: if you have a gmail, click “continue with google.” “Continue with google” usually bypasses the account creation process and makes it easier.
Download Bridge Athletic App – this is the app we use on the iPads attached to the squat racks. It tracks your wellness, weights, RPE, and everything program-related. You’ll get an email from an Allegiate coach about setting up your bridge account. There’s also a mobile app if you want to download it and see which workouts are on which day. Bridge shows whichever program you mainly participate in – Allegiate Strength or Allegiate Team. We don’t have the other classes on Bridge. If you have any trouble getting set up on bridge, email kirk@allegiategym.com

How does Allegiate work? Which classes to take?
We have 5 different classes but “Team” (intermediate-advanced) and “Strength” (beginner-advanced) are going to be the main classes you attend. Both are total-body strength and conditioning programs. Team is a more advanced program which members have to be cleared for. Strength is less advanced. Your goal is to attend 3-4 classes per week. Which ones? Use the graphic below to figure out what’s best for you.
Team vs Strength: what’s the difference and which one’s best for you?
What’s the first class like?
Injured or have a serious injury you want to be extra careful with?
We can modify your program and work around your pain or injury. But it’s important that we know about it. Book a free functional movement screen using your Allegaite App. In the FMS, our coach will take you through a 1x1 assessment and you can chat with him about your injury. After that, we can make modifications to the program to keep you safe, work around any pain, and prevent you from getting injured. Want to learn more about our modification process? Read the full blog post here.
Want to see if you’re cleared for our more advanced program “Allegiate Team?”
Keeping people safe and preventing injury is our main priority. So for your first session, we don’t allow members to go into Team if they haven’t been cleared either in a strength class or after a functional movement screen. Read more about our screening process here.
To see if you’re cleared:
Go to an Allegiate strength class and we’ll know by the end of that class or
Schedule a Functional Movement Screen in the Allegiate app. The functional movement screen is 30-minute movement and asymmetry evaluation. It’s an assessment and not a workout but please wear workout clothes. To schedule an FMS from the Alleigate App, click book > consultations> functional movement screen
