How we're thinking about reopening Allegiate
While Allegiate does not yet have a set reopening date, we put together a plan for reopening.
The purpose of this blog post is to give you an overview of what to expect when we reopen Allegiate, once we get the go-ahead from relevant government officials.
Priority #1 is the safety of our members and staff.
Let’s start with sanitization. Here’s what we did last week:
Total facility disinfectant cleaning by a professional cleaning crew
Wrap-around 360° COVID-19 disinfection spray by a professional cleaning crew
Kills all viruses: 30-second kill claim against Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Anti-Virus Sprayer with electrostatic technology
Safe, no harsh chemicals
As we think about reopening and keeping everyone safe, we’ll need to make some changes in our regular operations that allow us to:
Follow social distancing guidelines
Minimize use of shared equipment
Increase cleaning frequency
Follow other best practice protocols
Following the points outlined above, we’re thinking about a temporary solution with changes in class schedule, sizes, and structure:
6 people per class. 1 person per rack.
This limits shared equipment and allows us to maximize social distancing
Classes start every 30 minutes.
They start on the turf and finish in the weight room. If it rains, we’ll do movement prep in the members’ lounge.
This structure allows us to maintain proper social distance and safely maximize the # of people per hour at Allegiate.
Modified class schedule
So members have enough opportunity to safely make it in for a session, we'll adjust amount of classes offered throughout the day.
Shortened class times so we can clean more.
Classes will be a few minutes shorter than usual
Structured ingress/ egress before and after classes
Enter through gate on the turf
Exit through the members' lounge usual entrance
The flow will be: enter on turf, movement prep on turf, move into weight room, exit through members' lounge
This format reduces contact between members.
Hand sanitizer stations in gym
Non contact temperature checks
Contactless check-in.
No iPad to touch, we’ll check you in.
No showers until further notice
What we’re asking members to do:
If you’re sick, stay home.
Book classes in advance – no last-minute sign-ups.
Have a mask to enter Allegiate.
Wash hands before and after each session.
Be understanding with us as we work together through this transition period.
In the event that there's a reported case of coronavirus:
We'll notify you
We'll take immediate cleaning and safety precautions
