The most important block for strength because of this
This is an important training block for Strength.
Why? We are pushing the boundaries with volume, intensity, and exercise selection. This marks the culmination of running the Strength program for 6 years, which began in 2018 in response to members needing an evolved program from our Team program. The key difference was incorporating exercises with an elevated governor for loading, but the core principles remained: three-day total body workouts, antagonist pairings of pushing and pulling exercises, four-week training blocks, an undulating focus on Accumulation and Intensification in each block, and training as hard as possible with great execution every rep and set.
The intent of our Strength Program was to select exercises with a higher governor, empowering people to lift as heavy as possible each set. The focus was on removing hesitation and doubt, training hard with exercises that limit potential load by adjusting stance, load position, or resistance type. For the first 5 years, we focused on these lower-governor exercises with simple, intuitive sets and reps. This past year, we progressed the sets and reps, making this block important.
In this block, we push the boundaries of total volume using a Stage Descending protocol, breaking the 5-set limit in the A series. We will use a 6, 6, 8, 8, 10, 10 rep scheme for A1 combined with 6 sets of A2, totaling 12 sets before the B series. This unique challenge requires an extended focus, essential for high performance.
The message remains: train as hard as you can with excellent execution. The reward for 6 years of consistent, hard training is ‘more’. As you have consistently gotten stronger, you now get more volume. We evolve by focusing more on volume or intensity with a specific list of exercises.
Training is a mindset, approaching each day with conviction and purpose in the never-ending pursuit of elite physical and mental conditioning.
